If you had work done on your home, make sure the permits are closed out before putting it on the market
Youtube: Selling a House with Open Permits
Most homeowners avoid pulling permits when doing work on their home. Bad idea. But, many do it anyway. If you are one of the small crowd that works with contractors and permits were pulled – make sure those are closed before you go to sell the home. An open permit can create barely a ripple at the Closing. But there are cases where the permit is related to improper work and a town inspector simply won’t allow it to be cleared (without correction).
